Bad weather forces Rahul to cancel Almora rally, return to Delhi
Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi's Almora rally was cancelled on Thursday owing to bad weather conditions in the Kumaon region.

The Uttar Pradesh Youth Congress on Thursday staged a fierce protest in the state capital under its “Vote Thief, Quit Power” campaign.
Party workers marched from the Congress state headquarters toward the Election Commission office, raising slogans such as “Vote chor gaddi chhod” and “RSS ki nai shakha—Chunav Aayog.”

Police had erected barricades in advance to stop the protesters. A heated confrontation broke out as Congress workers attempted to break through.

Several youth workers climbed over the barricades and shouted slogans while standing atop them. Despite their efforts, they managed to advance only about 100 meters from the Congress office before police intervened.
Security personnel then forcibly detained several protesters, dragging them into police vehicles and taking them to Eco Garden, where they were later released.
Uttar Pradesh Youth Congress president Ankit Tiwari said that the remarks made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi regarding SIR were “entirely true.”
He added, “Until this authoritarian government listens to us, such demonstrations will continue. We will keep marching toward the Election Commission office.”
The Youth Congress had announced in advance that it would gherao the Election Commission office located in Hazratganj. Members from across the state arrived in Lucknow early in the morning, prompting authorities to deploy a heavy police force and install barricades at both the Congress headquarters and the Election Commission premises.
